Dual awards were proudly accepted by Ferdinand Gros and Raul Anguita, CSC’s Program Director at the BC Alpine AGM this fall.
For Cypress Ski Club, the recognition is about more than trophies — it’s a reflection of years of effort, teamwork, and shared vision. It acknowledges the steady growth of the club’s programs, the dedication of its coaching staff, and the supportive network of volunteers and parents who make it all possible.
Club Development of the Year
Club Development of the Year is an honour that celebrates growth, leadership, and excellence in athlete development and community engagement. The award acknowledges the hard work of CSC’s board, volunteers, and coaching staff in creating an environment where athletes can thrive both on and off the slopes. The recognition reflects CSC’s focus on building a strong and inclusive program. From early development levels through to competitive training we maintaining a deep sense of community and connection within the club. The result is a vibrant and growing membership that continues to raise the bar in B.C. alpine skiing.

Learn to Train Coach of the Year: Ferdinand Gros
The second award of the evening went to Ferdinand Gros, who was named 2025 Learn to Train Coach of the Year. This award recognizes excellence in coaching athletes in the “Learn to Train” stage, a critical phase for young skiers as they build foundational technical and tactical skills.
Ferdinand, originally from Grenoble, France, has been with Cypress Ski Club since 2019. He currently leads the U16 program and has played a central role in shaping the club’s development pathway. His energy, professionalism, and passion for coaching have made him a beloved figure among athletes and families alike. This provincial recognition highlights the impact of his leadership and commitment.
As the club looks ahead to the 2025–26 season, these awards serve as both celebration and inspiration. They reaffirm CSC’s place as one of the most dynamic and forward-looking ski clubs in British Columbia — a place where young athletes are encouraged to push their limits, chase their goals, and grow within a positive and motivated community.
