March 15th coaches Sean, Jeremy, Manon, Estefania, Emmy, Sarah, and Gaëlle took the Cypress Ski Club U8 & U10’s to our neighbour’s hill, Mt. Seymour. Though a snowy day, visibility remained good till the end of the events. Due to snow conditions, this was the first event hosted by Mount Seymour Ski Club in a several seasons. Volunteers from other clubs came out to support and we’re all happy to see their club back in action!
Events included a dual glalom, obstacle course, speed trap, and jump. The race start was delayed by 45 minutes while volunteers worked on setup, but it was completed almost on schedule.
There were plenty of riddles shared while waiting in line for the lift, and the athletes appeared to have a great time. Finding a place to eat for some groups was a bit challenging during lunch, but the young athletes were happy to eat regardless—especially when some parents brought fries!
