The U14 team from Cypress traveled to Mount Washington on Vancouver Island for their first race of the season. U14 Head Coach Ferdinand Gros attended with assistance from Robin. The athletes had the opportunity to train on Friday in excellent conditions, as the weather was beautiful and the snow was very firm they were able to prepare properly ahead of the races on Saturday and Sunday.
Eighteen athletes travelled with their family for this trip. Many parents from the ski club volunteered to help run the race, which was great practice ahead of hosting our upcoming U14 Race at Cypress Mountain.
The giant slalom took place on Saturday, and the slalom was held on Sunday.

- 1st Mens GS – Jayden Cai
- 1st Mens SL- Jayden Cai
- 8th in Mens GS – Wyatt Orr
- 5th in Mens SL – Wyatt Orr
- 6th in Womens GS – Sofia Venditti
- 9th in Womens SL – Sofia Venditti
Congratulations to Jayden Cai, who won both the giant slalom and the slalom, winning every run of each race! This is the first time Jayden has made it onto the podium in the U14 category. His results are proof of his perseverance and belief in hard work to achieve his goals.
Beautiful weather and fantastic organization made for an excellent race this weekend. We’re looking forward to returning for U14 Provincials at Mountain Washington in 2026.
