CYPRESS SKI CLUB – ALL MOUNTAIN FREESKIING

ALL MOUNTAIN FREESKIING

Inspiring Skiers for Life

All Mountain

This is a two day or three day program, designed for those that want to develop their skills in big mountain skiing. Groups are formed based on age and skill level. This program provides the opportunity to become a more dynamic skier and learn more about skiing and the mountain by skiing all terrain in varied snow conditions. Certified All Mountain coaches will be catering to a freeriding program focused on good ski technique, reading terrain and becoming comfortable with taking air. The program offers three training days: Thursday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays. The two day program consists on Thursday evenings plus one week-end day, that needs to be determined at the beginning of the season. The three day program runs Thursday evenings plus Saturday and Sunday. This will allow for more in-depth training and will open opportunities to  for those interested in taking part in freeride competitions. Our club has become a member of the International Fressking and Snowboarding Federation (IFSA), and will work closely with this organization. Our coaches will be certified by IFSA. For more info visit https://www.freeskiers.org.

A general knowledge of snow characteristics, avalanche conditions and off piste skiing techniques will be offered.

Pre-requisites: Skiing confidently on blue runs and comfortably on black and glade runs. One year of previous coaching (alpine skiing freestyle or free ride) OR two years of approved lessons program (i.e. Cypress Mountain Raven Riders, Whistler Kids Club etc.) Individual evaluations will be available for those children who may not have the formal instruction/coaching but could meet the terrain requirements.

Big mountain skiing days at Whistler, terrain park training and off piste skiing opportunities will happen throughout the season.

Activities outside Cypress are not included in the fees. Learning clinics about mountain safety along with Cypress Ski Patrol will be held.

This is an excellent opportunity to become a good skier while learning how to make the right decisions while skiing.
