All Mountain Freeskiing

Develop skills in big mountain skiing.

Become a dynamic skier, learn about skiing all terrain, and all snow conditions. Coaches focus on athletes’ development of good skiing technique, reading terrain, and becoming comfortable with taking air. A general knowledge of snow characteristics, avalanche conditions, and off piste skiing techniques will be offered. Big mountain skiing days at Whistler, terrain park training, and off piste skiing opportunities will happen throughout the season. Athletes can choose a two-day or three-day program. Groups are formed based on age and skill level.

Cypress Ski Club is currently working towards offering an option for All Mountain athletes to compete in Freeride in the 2025-26 season. The Club is a member of the International Freeskiing and Snowboarding Federation (IFSA), and will work closely with this organization. Our coaches have a minimum ACA-CSC Entry Level or equivalent, and are working on certification from IFSA and Professional Ski Instructors of Canada (PSIC). For more information about Freeride, visit https://www.ifsafreeride.org.

Activities with additional fees are optional, and including:

  • Mountain safety clinics with Cypress Ski Patrol
  • Avalanche Awareness presentation
  • Big mountain ski trips to Whistler
  • Freeride competitions (in the future)
