2014 Club Day Celebration and Club Race Results

Club Day 2014 was a fantastic way to celebrate the 2013-14 season! The fresh snow did not get in the way of a fun (and competitive!) club race that kicked off the festivities. Its always great (and humbling for the parents) to race with the athletes and see the improvements gained over a season of training. The club race was followed by our club photo in front of the Olympic Rings – of course the snow kept coming!

The afternoon was full of great food brought by the parents and pizzas (thanks Graham!)! And of course we all anxiously awaited for Raul to announce the club race winners and awards for the season. Below are the results and season awards highlights.

Thanks for a great season and we look forward to seeing all of you again next season!!

A very succesful evening at the Capilano Rugby Club on Friday Feb. 14

More than 60 people gathered for our annual fundraising event this past Friday Feb 14. We started at 8 pm with people arriving ready to party and bid on the silent auction items.

Rob Lahti, Mt. Seymour Head Coach and a renowned musician, was there to entertain us with his music and there was dancing too!!

Our President, Ron Wakkary informed the audience about our pet project, the grading and improvement of Coyote 7, our training venue at Cypress. This project is being financed by donations, so a project will be set up through the National Sports Trust Fund for donations. All donations over $20 receive a tax receipt. More information on this matter will follow. We want the first stage completed by next season.

A big thank you to all that attended, your generosity is greatly appreciated.

Our Club at the 2013 West Van Pumpkin Festival

It was a gorgeous day yesterday at the Pumpkin Festival. In our continuing effort to make the Club known to the community, we participated in this event that is held annually at the West Vancouver Community Center. It is indeed a great opportunity to make our club known to people. Young families attended and many children were there having fun.
We were able to answer questions and we hope to get some children join the club.

A big thank you to all the volunteers that contributed in this event!!
